Project Silver - No.3

Post by Geeman on Fri Jul 03, 2009 3:53 pm

...on Ebay. I kinda hoped someone would outbid me, but they didn't!

So, I'm getting this...

with this in it... (heated from Colour Concept)

It needs a replacement gearbox (and de-chavving) and a good clean up, then it'll be back up for sale again!

Yeah... it looks like the leather is in REALLY good condition. I hope it's as nice in the flesh as it is in the pics!

Just remembered that I've got a set of 'interesting' rims that I bought for Rach's Compact and never used that I've just had refurb'd - they'd look excellent on this if I can get some adapters from somewhere... Wink

LOL - will see how it pans out. The seller still hasn't replied to my e-mails yet... I bet they back out as it was quite a low sale price with only me bidding!

Just got confirmation from the seller... it's done 100k (which isn't too bad)... hopefully speaking tomorrow about picking it up.

So, I've got some 8x17 rims with an ET of 35. What width adapters do I need to fit them on to the Mk3 then?

Not bad for a phone pic!

Leather is very good, but needs some cosmetics and DEFINITELY a 'box - no reverse at all!

It's a shame it's only got full black Colour Concept heated RECARO leather in it! Woo hoo! - Didn't realise it was Recaro kit till I got it home. Result!

It starts first time, runs real nice with no knocks or bangs or smoke. Okay, so it needs a few panels of paint to make it perfect and some decent rims, then I think we're on to a winner. I'm well chuffed with it.

Rach has seen it in daylight for the first time this morning, and it's got her approval, so can't be that bad!

Stripped out most of the interior now, so I can get in there and clean it properly. With it being stood for over a year, you can image that it got quite sweaty in there! Everything is out apart from the carpet... so the work begins.

Should have it for a while, but it won't be making any appearances on the scene... lol
