A3rutheboy - Thanks for the comment! I spent a day at MIJ performance for a custom exhaust, they ended up putting an oval back box on to fit better than a round one to get it to sit higher, they did a real good job, good bunch of guys, id recommend them. Just go for the quiet system....the rest of them (mild-sport/sport/race) are stupidly loud, i had the mild-sport one at first lol...it was like a straight through system!

shame....i just spent bout £150 quid on a new back box... its a nice twin oval but just sits a but low and rubbish. i was hoping there was an easier way. (and when i say easier i mean cheeper too! Wink ) Ah well never mind still loving the car tho cant wait to see it at a meet.

Does yours have a round silencer or oval? If its oval, you might be able to get someone to weld some new brackets on to get it higher up. Thanks, i should be at next meet, what have you done to yours? Looks pretty low in your avatar...

i think it is oval to be honest, but theres only 1 mounting bracket on the car which i thort was weird 2 be honest.

yea its pritty slammed. it can go lower but whats the point with the ammount of speed bumps around near me id just fek the sump or somet lol just looking for some new 225/45/17s or even 40's but prices are just stupid!

Well, i thought id share some pics of my new wheels...DZ Exclusiv's, 8.5x17 and 10x17. Just in need of a bit of a rim polish! Razz Had a bit of a trial fitting the other day...

The previous owner got his money's worth from the rear tyres, which are currently 235/40/17...but im thinking going for some 225/40/17, which seem to be quite a rare sight, or getting some 215/45/17...but i dont think i can trust my tyre fitting abilities to fit them on a 10j rim!

Anyone got any tyre ideas for a 10x17?

They look very nice maybe just go a little lower, other than that this is really starting to turn into a lovely looking car. Cool

I run a 215-35 on a 9.5 and it's popping

I'd run a 225-40 on 10's,

Nice wheels and nice car, keep up the good work

Thanks peeps, the 18's will be up for sale soon [plug]. It will be going lower (especially the rear), this was one of the main reasons for going with 17's...

Will, i think some 225's would go on there well, but i cant find 225/40's anywhere, i can get 215/40's or 215/45's too...but i think they'd be a bitch to fit...and i dont know if id feel too safe on them...but i dont know...decisons, decisions...

Well....i got my tyres fitted on saturday, more stretch then i expected tbh! Ended up opting for some 215/45/17's as 225/40/17's are virtually non existent.

Mounted em up on the car yesterday to see how they look...and now im not sure if i like it. Dont know if i should keep the ASA's or not and just get it lower. (it will be going lower regardless of which wheels i decide to keep on)....whats everyones opinion?

Whatever i decide, im gonna take the next few days or so to polish em and give them a bit of a refurb while i gather my thoughts about it....

I know that Joe has been after your ASA's...

Look good on either rim fella.

Thanks. Yea, ive been speaking to him about the ASA's....

The other car is my dads car, he said hes leaving it standard...but hes looking for new style RS4 wheels lol...thats where it always starts...

I think im gonna put them back on one night or weekend and see how they look when the car is lower...

to be honest dan i'm undecided about them, but i do honestly think you will have bother with the law and that pokeage/stretch, will and jen have both had bother lately

they do however look good. i may be blind but apart from the extra poke, i can't really tell that much difference from the ASA's, infact if you hadn't have told me i may not have noticed!!!

i think you should use the 17s for shows and have some sensible 18inch 18x8 rs6 reps for daily use Wink

I know it can get you into a bit of bother, spent a good few hours reading the bitching going off on pistonheads about tyre stretching the other night. If i do keep em, i wont be using them daily thats for sure. Ill just keep them for shows and meets, but then thats where coppers are quite likely to turn up as a few have found out before...so im a bit undecided about that part aswell! Ill decide at weekend i think....

Im not sure about RS6's. i like them, but wanted something either in 17" (S3, TT etc wheels) or some more rare 18"..like A8 fat fives, or some unknown wheels that you get on A6's (dunno what they're called)...even some merc wheels if i can find some in the right offset at the right price. But some RS6's in gunmetal might look alright! Shocked
