god gave me valves

Post by mrgarf on Fri Mar 12, 2010 11:27 pm

well with audrey gone to live with grounded , i had to have another car, luckily the deal with audrey involved another car. The car in question has 16 valves factory leathers, 120k and more doors than i need , introducing my golf mk2 gti 16valve. it has a g60 arches and a nice little suspension set up (ill sure wreck that when i put coilovers on ) the car does however have a couple of things that need sorting ( i fancy a abis white respray) but im sure ill sort any problems out, arse in gear again so no slacking now Razz , so heres some pic

This goes BLOODY well! A few things to tidy up and it'll be a respectable valver. I like it. I like the plans too.

well having the car 2 days it was time for a mod, luckily i have a 280 momo team (i know it has a factory leather steering wheel it was just too big!!) ........... only problem was the collar was a large on and my hug adaptor was a small one, quick chat with gee and i discover you can hit off the larger bit as its a add on!! so i popped over to see gee so he could break my car!!!! luckily he knows what he was doing so now i have a momo team fitted , thanks gee for bashing my steering column to death

I drove this yesterday (like a grandad) and it's actually really nice to drive, even with the 280 on it!

well i have been busy doing and getting a few bits for the golf , i actually have a long term aim with this car the question is will i complete a car!!!!
first off i bought some wheels, they need a refurb but for what i paid for these borbets you cant knock them !!

i have a interesting colour for these 90s look wheel if i dare, next up was a door handle change, i have gone for mk3 style handles as a temp measure till the car is painted

before

after

i then change the number plate to my usual one Razz

finally for now i have bought some fk coilovers for very good money, the car came with wietec shocks and springs but this isnt low enough for me so ill be changing to coilovers very soon

Nice work Matt, looks like you're cracking on at a fair old rate of knots. Can't wait to see this all sorted. Are you heading to Elsecar at the weekend? Not seen you in ages!

well things were going so so well for the valver, i was enjoying the car, had a couple of ickle knocks , but lots planned bits bought and stuff booked , sadly faint has other plans, the car had developed a minor misfire which was not a worry as i was planning a service a few weeks later, so i thought go easy no thrashing till i do that and sort the problem then night before service and coilover fitting day the engine went bang!!!!! i now have so compression in 2 cylinders and i believe some valves are missing in action!!!!
anyway the car is gonna be stripped of bits (leather already been blagged lol) and other parts will be up forsale , coilovers wheels etc .......

as the valver is being sold i need a need car
